Obon lanterns are a meaningful tradition used to light the path for dancers and to honor loved ones who have passed. This festival also serves as an important fundraiser supporting the temple and its community programs.

Join us for a special evening of Bon Odori at the Buddhist Temple of Alameda’s Obon Festival on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 7 pm.

Dance practices will be held at the temple at 7:30 PM on:

• Wednesday, July 8
• Tuesday, July 14
• Thursday, July 16
