Reverend Joshin Dennis Fujimoto was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1952. In 1953, his family moved to the United States. He received his MA from the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, in 1980; his Tokudo ordination at the San Francisco Buddhist Temple in 1981; and his Kyoshi ordination in Kyoto, Japan in 2004.
He has served as the Resident Minister of the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple in Ontario, OR, Supervising Minister of the Oregon Buddhist Temple in Portland, OR, Rinban of the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, Supervising Minister of the Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church in Union City, CA, and currently serves as the Resident Minister of the Buddhist Temple of Alameda and Supervising Minister of Enmanji Buddhist Temple in Sebastopol.
Before entering the Buddhist ministry, Rev. Fujimoto was the owner of Wood & Stone, and the principal designer for The Jigokumon Collection. He designed and created sculptural art pieces, primarily of cast stone or metal.
